Class 3 Get Scientific!

10th October 2017 By Katie

Class 3 are taking part in 3 Science sessions as part of a project called ‘Water for Industry.’ Mrs Harvey introduced the problem solving based challenges to the children. Miss Harris took over for the second session and Mrs Harvey will return for the third and final session.

During the first session the children had to investigate the properties of different adhesives in order to fix leaky water pipes and in the second, they had to investigate different materials that could be used to filter dirty water.

We have had great fun so far and the children are proving to be great scientific investigators! Well Done Class 3!

Reading Together!

7th January 2017 By Katie

This term, on a Friday afternoon, Class 3 children will be pairing up with a child in Class 1 and they will be their reading buddy. This is a great opportunity for Class 1 children to read to someone else and Class 3 to practice their reading comprehension and questioning skills. Class 3 children will also be reading stories to their buddy, practicing their fluency and expression.

Here are some pictures from our first session, which was a great success!

October 2017 – Children and staff did the Race For Life around the Village Playing Field to raise money for Cancer Research. All sponsors have not yet been returned so we will update you with the total in due course.

October 2017 – Convoy Aid – Romania – Shoe Box Appeal 2017.  Shoeboxes will be collected from our school on Thursday 19th October at 9am.  A separate envelope with recommended £1 for transport cost should also be sent in with the shoebox.  Convoy Aid are also welcoming any donations of warm clothing, shoes, wellington boots, tinned food, pet food, cuddly toys which they will collect with the shoeboxes.  Thank you to anyone who can help us with this.
